Oct 12-13: Travel to Nairobi

Greetings from Central Kenya. I left Oklahoma City last Friday at 6 am, flying Northwest Airlines through Detroit and Amsterdam, and arrived in Kenya on Saturday evening at 6 pm. It sounds like a 36-hour trip but, since Kenya is 8 time zones ahead of Oklahoma, I only went 28 hours without real sleep. It took me a little over an hour to purchase an entry visa, claim my luggage, go through customs and find Fridah Mubichi and Katie McLain at the airport's main entrance. We got caught up over a cup of hot chocolate at the Methodist Guest House before settling in for the night.
